Journal of Ichthyology is an English version of Voprosy Ikhtiologii. It was launched in 1953 as a collections of papers and in 1961 became a periodical. Since that time it remains the leading Russian journal on ichthyology covering fish ecology, morphology, genetics, physiology, embryology, systematics, and fisheries biology. All articles are peer reviewed. The editorial board welcomes articles from all countries provided they meet the scientific standards of Journal of Ichthyology. Articles submitted by foreign authors (in English) are published in the English version of the journal. The summaries of these papers translated into Russian will also appear in the Russian-language version of the journal.
