The Russian Journal of Bioorganic Chemistry (Bioorganicheskaya khimiya), founded in 1975 by Academician Yurii A. Ovchinnikov, publishes reviews and the results of original experimental and theoretical investigations on the structure, functions, structure-activity relationships, and synthesis of biopolymers, such as proteins, nucleic acids, polysaccharides, mixed biopolymers, and their complexes, and low molecular-mass biologically active compounds (peptides, sugars, lipids, and antibiotics.) The journal also covers selected aspects of neuro- and immunochemistry, biotechnology, and ecology. The Russian Journal of Bioorganic Chemistry is intended for scientists, teachers at universities and higher schools, students, and researchers at industrial, medical, agricultural, and environmental- control laboratories.
